Dr. Kopano is Professor and Department Chair of the Department of Multiplatform Production in the School of Global Journalism and Communication at Morgan State University. He received his Ph.D. in English and his research interests include popular culture, Black masculinity, and African Americans in the radio industry. And he recently co-edited the book “Soul Thieves: The Appropriation and Misrepresentation of African American Popular Culture.”
